DEFENSIVE Underground Bunker Options

  • NBC Air Filtration

DEFCON only uses military grade NBC air filter takes air from outside a safe room or bomb shelter, draws it through a series of particulate and gas adsorption filters, and then introduces the filtered air into the protected space at a higher pressure than the outside air pressure. This is called over pressure. This ensures that all air is flowing outward through any leak points and airborne toxins cannot migrate into the shelter. All DEFCON air filtration comes with battery backup and manual backup.

  • Blast Valve

DEFCON Installs only the highest quality blast valves made out of the highest quality Steel. A blast valve is a heavy steel pressure vessel that allow the relatively low pressure air from the NBC air filter to move in either direction through them, but they automatically slam shut when a high pressure blast wave or the following negative pressure vacuum phase comes down the ventilation pipe. As the high pressure wave from a nearby detonation passes over the shelter, the pressure travels down the pipes and into the shelter. If it is not stopped, it will destroy the air filtration equipment and injure or kill the occupants.

  • Bullet Resistant Doors and Hatches

DEFCON uses AR500 Steel plate in 3/8” and 1/2’’ in all of its blast doors. AR500 steel is an abrasion resistant steel plate used in high-wear applications, like mining or material handling. This steel is heat treated to exhibit through-hardening, improved forming, and welding capabilities. AR500 steel possesses excellent resistance to slide wear, rub wear and heavy wear. It can also withstand high impact stresses, even at extremely low temperatures. With its ability to withstand high impact stress, AR500 has been widely popular for its uses in body armor and ballistic plates. AR500 steel can stop many threats, including, but not limited to:

Pistol Calibers: .22LR, 9mm, .40 S&W, 45 ACP, 10mm, .357 Magnum, and .44 Magnum

Rifle Calibers: .223/5.56 (M855 62g Penetrators), 7.62x39, 7.62x51 (M80 Ball), .308 Winchester, 12 Gauge 3” Magnum 00 Buck, and 12 Gauge 1oz Slugs

Platforms include a variety of Handguns, Pistol Caliber Rifles, and Rifles to obtain a wide variety of velocities for a given round

Electrical Underground Bunker Options

  • Solar Systems

DEFCON uses only the highest grade solar systems components in our systems. Brands like Outback Solar, Midnight Solar, Trojan normally make up our custom systems. Not ever customers needs are the same so We work directly with our customers to figure out what there power consumption needs will be. We then design a system around there needs.

  • Generators

DEFCON also uses generators to power our units. We use top of the line Generators which are designed to be super quite, durable and fuel efficient. These units work hand in hand with our solar charging system. Our systems are designed to automatically start the generator if the solar panels are not preforming and the battery bank gets to low.

  • LED Lighting

DEFCON only uses top quality LED lights. Customers can choose from a selection of different wattage's and lighting tones to compliment the bunker. We can also wire the bunker to run on 12v lighting and 110v lighting for convenience of on grid and off grid situations.

PLUMBING Underground Bunker Options

  • Water Holding Tanks

DEFCON Underground uses tanks that are specifically designed for below -ground water storage called below-ground cisterns. Below ground cisterns provide potable water on demand. Fresh water bulk storage tanks are necessary when city water is not on site or there is a requirement to keep a large reserve of potable water readily available. These tanks will be especially useful in times of crisis or natural disaster. It is important to make sure the tank is certified to store fresh water, so all our tanks are food grade and meet NSF/ANSI 61 requirements. That means you can safely store your drinking water for later consumption.

  • Septic Tanks

DEFCON Underground uses septic tanks made from polyethylene offer a practical and economical choice over concrete tank options. Below ground plastic septic tanks are easier to install and have the same longevity as other options. We offer both single and double compartment septic tanks to accommodate both small and large groups.

  • Lateral Fields

DEFCON Underground uses infiltrator systems later fields in all of its lateral field installs. There dome shape and rugged construction makes them the ideal choice when it comes to lateral fields.

  • Electric Water Heater

DEFCON uses Ultra high efficiency electric water heaters that use low power consumption.  These water heaters are designed to hold heat from 140 degrees to 104 degrees for up to 10 hours. This means they should only cycle 2-3 times a day depending on usage.

  • Toilets

DEFCOn uses two types of toilets. Composting toilets made be Natures Head. The toilet is self-contained, urine diverting and the water-less operation allows for ease of use for many applications. These toilets have the ability to be used up to 30 days with average use without emptying.  DEFCON also uses standard water flushing toilets more like what is in your house in conjunction with a septic tank and lateral field.

Durability Underground Bunker Options

  • Cathodic Protection

DEFCON uses different kinds of Cathodic protection systems to protect to protect our Bunkers, Bomb Shelter and Storm Shelters.

Cathodic protection (CP) is the process of using DC currents to anode rods or the use of anode bags to prevent or reduce the corrosion of metal surfaces by transferring the corrosion from the protected structure to another known location, where the current-discharging anode(s) or anode bags can be designed for maximum life and ease of replacement.

Corrosion is a leading cause of premature failure in metallic structures. Operators can extend the service life of their facilities and equipment by installing cathodic protection systems and testing them regularly.

A wide range of civil and industrial applications have used CP systems to prevent corrosion for many years. CP systems are typically installed during original construction, major expansions, or upgrades.

  • Exterior Coating and Interior Coatings

DEFCON utilizes only top of the line exterior and interior coatings from the best manufactures in the industries. Our bunkers are sand blasted before the exteriorand interior coatings are applied to insure good adhesion and top quality protection. Our exterior and interior coatings will prevent corrosion, mold, and a host of other moisture-related problem, so you can be assured that your investment will last for generations.

  • Concrete Encasement

DEFCON uses a concrete encasement method for a true blast shelter design. These encasement's are professionally engineered and stamp certified. DEFCON does not just pour concrete over our shelters like some of our competition. Our shelters are concrete reinforced with #4 and #6 re-bar. We use approximately 2500’ of re-bar in just our single 8’ x 20’ unit. Don’t settle for just a pour-over design. Please look at our engineering letter for PSI details.
